The first day of the 2010-2011 school year is rapidly approaching. Thus, I decided to share the video below because it depicts some of the situations teachers face everyday in the classroom. One thing in the video that spoke volumes to me was the teacher’s (the pianist) ability to “think on his feet”. He turned what could have been a major disaster into a VERY proud moment for two parents. Teachers all over the El Paso ISD adjust and modify, coming to the aide of students and parents each and everyday!
Welcome back and have a great year!
Video: Encouragement
- Can you relate to any of the people in the video?
- Do you think the renowned pianist would do well in a classroom? Why or Why not?
Nice video demonstrating the importance of the arts in education. BTW is this blog a private blog just for THMS or does everyone in the feeder pattern get to play?
ReplyDeleteDeleted because I needed a quick edit for grammar...

ReplyDeleteThe musician in me relates to the video...probably the parent in my also.
A renowned musician would do very well in the classroom because research states that students who participate in the arts score higher than their peers on standardized tests such as the TAKS and have a higher percentage of graduates.
