Cool Hair Cuts . . .

Sarah Oseles, Moye Elementary Counselor, coordinated with Sonia Rosales (Director at Trans Mountain Community College – El Paso, Texas) to get FREE haircuts for about 50 Moye students on November 9, 2009. During this 2nd annual event, cosmetology students, from the Community College spent several hours at Moye Elementary sharing their gifts and talents by cutting and trimming student hair.

The Whitaker Tradition Continues . . .

For many years, Whitaker (TEA Exemplary School) has reached out to it's community after school hours with events such as "Read To Your Bunny Night", "Math Night", and Science Night". Yet another year with these rich activities! Families come out to enjoy educational games, lessons., and door prizes. These activities afford parents quality time with their children.

Several teachers attended the eInstruction session at Lee Elementary because they wanted the following.

  • a way to give students instant feedback on assignments
  • instant data on students needing assistance
  • all assignments to be graded and recorded for them

Webquest/Scavenger Hunt 2009

This webquest contest is for teachers in the following EPISD schools: Irvin, Crosby, Dowell, Lee, Magoffin, Magoffin SESC, Moye, Schuster, Stanton, and Whitaker. The first three classroom teachers to complete all directions and questions correctly and submit the answers via email to me (slmartin@episd.org) will receive a back to school gift.
