- Is a webquest something you might be willing to incorporate into your lesson (s)?
- Do you think it would be an activity students would enjoy?
I think that my students would enjoy a webquest, but you would have to be very careful how it was done for mathematics. It could quickly turn into a 'free day' in the kids minds if they didn't have real information to find, but if you would help me, I think I would like to try one with my Algebra 2 classes. -- Catherine Wendland
ReplyDeleteCatherine,
ReplyDeleteI will definitely help you with a webquest.
With the enormous amount of information present on the Web and the students’ adeptness in the use of technology, Webquests could be an effective supplemental tool in teaching. However, caution must be employed utilizing Wikis as these highly dynamic sites, at a given instance, could contain information of dubious integrity.
ReplyDeleteI guess I lost this contest, since I'm #4...however, this is cool as ever, Sherita! You know I'm with you on technology, but how could we ever do this when our math lab was shut down and our mobile lab taken away!? We supposed to be "teaching the basics" in math - no time for technology - haven't you heard?
ReplyDeleteSherita, pretty cool activity for first day back to school, especially after meetings---have you noticed teachers are worse than students. Have a great year!

I have several lessons plans using webquests in the Spanish classroom. I would be happy to share some ideas about this with whom ever is interested. --Marissa Tagle
ReplyDeleteI found the information I gathered whild answering the questions was quite fasinating -- especially finding out that I am a "digital immigrant" and my students are "native speakers." I found the entire article very interesting. I would love to try the things I read about, but our computer lab needs to be reliable (which it is not at this time). Odessa
ReplyDeleteI'm trying all that I can to interest my students and took them to the computer lab last year for science lessons and plan to do so again this year. It is a great way to learn and I've been taking online classes myself this last year. But, I'm an immigrant and have much to learn.
ReplyDeleteI loved your webquest. My kids would definately enjoy this activity.I'm going to try to create one, but you know you'll probably have to come in and give us a little training.
ReplyDeleteAngelica,
ReplyDeleteJust let me know if you want my assistance with your webquest. I will be there!
Sherita
THANK YOU!, THANK YOU! I really appreciate your help and prompt response to questions. The links available at the bottom of your page are a great and excellent tool to all teachers no matter the grade or subject. I was even able to use the clock and dragnifier tools immediately after downloading! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! --- ;-) Rebeca Gonzalez
