Autism Awareness at Whitaker Elementary

April is Autism Awareness Month, a global effort to raise awareness and world attention on the issues affecting those with Autism.

During the month of April, the Whitaker Rainbows are choosing to assist in raising the awareness of Autism. Blue light bulbs are strategically placed throughout the campus. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to wear something blue every Wednesday during the month of April.

  3. This is awesome!!! It dosen't suprise me. My special needs daughter attended the life skills unit when it was there at Whitaker, with the same teacher and staff. They are the most amazing, loving and dedicated people I have ever met. My daughter has come a long way because they believe that ALL children can learn. As a parent, I would highly recommend the Autism class there. I went for teacher-parent confrence last week for my other daughter who still attends Whitaker and I was please to see blue light bulbs throughout the school, showing support for the kids!! The administration is wonderful and easy to talk to. Kudos to Whitaker Rainbows especially to the staff and the students for thier support on all the children affected by autism!!
