It's TAKS Time Again . . .

The TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills) test is a high-stakes test in Texas. Because this test has important consequences for the test taker, all stakeholders (administrators, teachers, parents, students, radio stations, etc.) are getting involved to encourage/support the students. El Paso's Mayor (John Cook) even did an inspirational video. All of this community involvement reminds me of the ancient African proverb: It Takes A Village to Raise a Child.

  1. I really liked the high school video about what to do on TAKS day. Was that done locally?
